Cinematic in scope yet personally deep in approach, AMOEBA is an exploration into the subterranean world of dark, brooding, minimalistic pop. Composed by ambient pioneer Robert Rich and guitarist Rick Davies, "Watchful" offers an introspective look into life's faded memories. AMOEBA is often playful and evocative with the songs displaying an eerie sense of space as each note hovers in the priphery while lingering between past and present. At times recalling the stark serenity of Nick Drake and DEAD CAN DANCE, the ethereal exploration of David Sylvian, or the sheer oddity of DURRUTTI COLUMN and latter TALK TALK albums, AMOEBA breaths a life all its own. At once organic, oblique and devoid of pretension, "Watchful" is a spiraling descent into purity where beauty highlights dissonant, rough-hewn edges. AMOEBA creates the sounds of existence winding down to a snapshot in the twilight of one of life's long journies.
